The 2010 Golden Globes - an evening of glamour
The 2010 Golden Globes evening was filled with glamour that I will never forget. If you are thinking about buying a filler seat, don’t bother doing the research. Sorry to dash your dreams of attending, but this party is by invitation only & somebody pinch me; My beautiful friend Micheline just happened to need a plus one!
What an evening of star-studded glamour! Celebrities mingled and partied like it was homecoming 1980!
Morgan Freeman Golden Globe and Academy Award Winner
Star after star strolled by and I was lucky enough to catch a selfie with quite a few of them. At the Golden Globes, it’s not uncommon to come across gigantic stars like Oscar-winner, Morgan Freeman, who allowed me to fan girl for a few minutes and chat with him. This year Mr. Freeman was a Golden Globe nominee for the film Invictus as having the best performance by an actor in a motion picture drama.
Stars, Stars, Stars!
After Morgan, I was on a roll. Michael Giacchino was a winner of the Golden Globe for Best Original Score-Motion Picture for the film Up.
There were moments I felt like I was spinning. Backstage stars were spilling into the hospitality suite, clutching awards, and greeting each other while I stood there in awe.
Bradley Cooper, star of the winning movie for Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical, The Hangover, stopped by for a quick selfie before dashing off to celebrate with the cast.
At the end of the show, famous faces started to appear faster and faster. Drew Berrymore, Jeff Bridges, and Julianna Marquiles all breezed through the room to get their statues engraved before leaving.
Sophia Loren
I was filled with excitement as I took a walk around the ballroom I ran into the legendary Sophia Loren who presented the award for Best Foreign Film. Sophia is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. She is truly Hollywood royalty and absolutely lovely.
Precious Wins: Monique’s Lovely Speech
There simply were too many great moments to mention them all so I will share one more highlight; meeting Monique! Winner of Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Precious”, which she later in the year won the Oscar for. Monique’s beautiful acceptance speech was incredibly memorable. I loved her performance and how wonderfully directed Precious was and I wish her much more success.
The evening seemed endless but being the lightweight that I am I had to turn my golden slippers in and make it back home to Phoenix. Being a voyeur into an evening with the stars was truly a night to remember. I wish I could have brought everyone, just so they could experience this joyous evening.
Incredible Walk of Fame at the Golden Globes
I was thrilled to be invited to the Golden Globes and I hope to one day go back. I was literally exhausted from all the mingling and I still can’t believe the people I got to meet - I am truly blessed!
Stunning List of Stars
Here is a quick list of more of the stars I met – Courtney Cox, Michael Emerson, Matthew Fox, Harrison Ford, Colin Farrell, Amy Adams, Maria Menounos, Garcelle Beauvais, Christian Slater, Jennifer Garner, David Arquette, Mellody Hobson Lucas, Golden, Gerard Butler, and Mayim Bialik, Felicity Huffman, Cameron Diaz, Paula Patton, Glenn Close, David Duchovny, Téa Leoni, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and Deborah Norville backstage.
So, was I right? Was the Golden Globes an evening of glamour?! Which of these stars do you wish you could meet in your lifetime? Which stars have you met?
